i am a decendant of weber mccaslin he was born in n,c 8-26-1796 .died 3-9-1880 boonevill ark logan co.wife was nancy hicks, born 4-20- 1800 in kentucky. died 10-29-1865 also in booneville ark.i have a lot of info. on this line of both mccaslin and hicks and will share.
I am working on my hicks line...all i have starts withgggrandfather...nathaniel hicks, b 1813/14 tennessee, married elizabeth finn 1835 sunmer tn, shows on 1840 1850 census, their son isaac hicks, born 1840 indianana, married julia ann farlow 1860, their son thomas J hicks, born 1869 married cora mae hughes in 1887, son elbert vernon was my grandfather.
I have seen posts that involve a john hicks from gouchland va, and he might be nathaniels grandfather!!!

Do you have anything on the Hicks from VA,TN,GA,and AL? My direct lineage starts with Samuel A Knight son of George Washington Hicks/Knight(he took his stepfathers last name)son of Abram C.
